American sterling silver trumpet vase with hand chased Belleflower decorations on the body and base, having a fluted flared rim and a stepped, pedestal base by the Whiting Division of Gorham Silversmiths, date marked for 1923. This elegant vase has a closed bottom but is not filled or re-enforced, being all sterling silver. The center of the body has an ornate, period monogram: C. Weighing 447 grams or 14.4 ozs. Troy, this special vase is 14" tall, 5 1/4" in diameter at the rim and 4 1/2" in diameter at the base. American sterling silver open salts and pepper shakers in an ornate, Repousse Baroque scroll pattern by Frank Smith of Gardner Massachusetts, c.1900. The pair of open salts and matching shakers have richly designed Baroque scroll Repousse bodies and applied scroll and floral rims. Each sits on 4 cast Acanthus leaf and scroll feet and the salts have gilt interiors. Weighing a total of 411 grams or 13.21 ozs. Troy. Each open salt is 3 1/2" - 3 1/4" and 2 1/4" tall. Each shaker is 5" tall. The four make a most impressive set. The front of each shaker has a period monogram: C. The open salts are not monogrammed.
