American coin silver napkin ring having applied twisted rope borders on a body with hexagonal hatch work with a cut work six pointed star in each hexagon, c.1860.
The stylized, scroll and floral bordered cartouche contains the period monogram M.F.R.
This especially attractive and unusual napkin ring is 1 3/4" in diameter, 1 1/4" wide and weighs 23 grams.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
