Russian 84 standard silver presentation goblet bearing the inscription: "Presented to Mr. Joseph Brown by the workmen at the Malo-Vishersky Station of the St. Petersburg-Moscow railway as a token of respect. 14 August 1864". This elegant, historically interesting goblet has a large, tapered body with allover, nicely detailed engraving featuring floral, foliate and scrollwork decorations, surrounding scenic river views. The goblet sits upon a stepped, circular foot, with the above described inscription. Maker's mark rubbed. Assayed in Moscow, 1852, by Andrei Antonovich Kovalsky. 84 Standard Mark cancelled to indicate export. Moscow City Mark.
