American sterling silver Aesthetic berry or casserole serving spoon having a cast bird atop a domed beaded finial by George Sharp of Philadelphia, Patent, c.1865.
This special spoon has a hexagonal handle with beaded collars at each end and is 9 7/8" long and weighs 86 grams, or 2.8 ozs. Troy. The domed finial has an inscription of the family name: Barden.
Inscribed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
