.Syrup Pitcher Sheraton 1910 Sterling Silver No Monograms

code: wb3286

American sterling silver Sheraton style syrup pitcher, c.1910. This lovely pitcher is unmarked as to the maker, likely as a result of a request from the retailer who wished to claim it as his own. Decorated on the fluted, tapered body with engraved wreath, foliate and floral swags supported by a spread cut corner square base and a reverse C scroll handle with an Acanthus leaf thumbpiece, it has a domed, scroll engraved lid with a pomegranate finial. Weighing a substantial 257 grams or 8.3 ozs. Troy, this special pitcher is 3" in diameter, 7 1/4" tall and 5" handle to spout. It has a subtle, period monogram, just under one of the wreaths: HBM. Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
