Continental, likely Northern German or Scandinavian 800 - 830 standard silver double compartment spice box. c.1790 - 1830 having a swirling, fluted body and a replacement violet purple gemstone finial. Weighing 44 grams or 1.4 ozs. Troy, this desirable box is 3 3/8" tall. There is a very light pin point monogram on the bottom lid PLK 1832. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, make this an especially attractive offering.
