American coin silver pair of salt and pepper shakers with Repousse thistle decorations, marked J.C.M. for John C. Moore and retailed by R. Rait (Robert Rait) of New York City, c.1850.
These beautiful shakers are 5 5/8" tall, 2 1/4" in diameter and weigh a total of 254 grams or 8.2 ozs Troy and are monogrammed ADV in ornate, period script.
Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
