American sterling silver two handled presentation loving cup in an applied grape and vine pattern by Bailey, Banks and Biddle of Philadelphia, made for them by Simons, Brothers and Company of the same city. This exquisite, impressive loving cup was presented to the Dean of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Department, Dr. John Marshall, by the faculty for ten years of faithful service and has the names of the faculty inscribed under the base. The applied grape decorations are nicely detailed as are the grape vine handles. The interior is gilt and the reeded edge scalloped rim add a nice touch. Weighing a most impressive 1535 grams or 49.4 ozs. Troy, this desirable presentation cup is 9 3/8" tall, 7 3/4" in diameter and 11" across the handles. The University of Pennsylvania is the oldest Medical School in the country and this loving cup is an interesting piece of their history as well as being a show piece in its own right.

American sterling silver, copper and bronze trophy cup by Gorham Silversmiths, date marked for 1883. This interesting mixed metals cup has a body made of sterling silver at the top, blended into a tall, spread circular copper base and two bronze handles. The body has an applied sterling silver lizard and beetle. The bottom of the cup is sterling. The trophy is inscribed: Edge Hill Challenge Cup Won By Anna Sands OCT 17, 1887 on one side and: Presented By William R. Sands on the other. Weighing 340 grams or 10.9 ozs. Troy, this special trophy cup is 5 1/2" tall, 4" in diameter at the top, 3" in diameter at the base and 6" across the handles. Inscribed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

Dutch first standard 934 sterling silver Chestnut Vase with a green glass liner, maker′s marks N2, date marked for 1908 and bearing, on the vase and lid, British sterling silver import marks of Boaz Moses Landeck, London 1908. This most impressive, large Neoclassical style vase has intricately designed cut work on its body and lid, with cast ,strap work handles and a pomegranate finial. The green glass insert adds to the appeal of this special vase. This exquisite vase is 14 1/2" tall, 9 1′2" across the handles, 6" in diameter and weighs a substantial 1477 grams or 47.5 ozs.
