German Figural Engraved Huge Sugar Tongs 13 Loth Silver 1820

Antique German 13 Loth (.813) silver huge figural sugar tongs, decorated with engraved floral and scroll foliate patterns as well as depictions of a young man with a rake and sheaf of wheat in his hands. Interior has remains of gilding. No monograms. c. 1820.

These unusual fabulous tongs are 6 1/4" long, 1 5/8" wide at the top and weigh 60.4 grams or 1.94 ozs Troy.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
