Antique Hanau 800 standard silver large tea caddy in Empire style. Body is decorated with repousse floral swags & bows and clean gilt interior. Cover has figural finial in shape of a tree cone and ornate rim, featuring palmette pattern. Made by Simon Rosenau, Bad Kissingen, Germany.
This spectacular caddy is 4 3/4" in diameter (at the widest), 2 3/4" in bottom diameter, 3" in top diameter, 5 1/2" tall (without the finial) and weighs 330.7 grams or 10.66 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
