German 800 standard silver footed basket in openwork designs with swing handle, richly decorated with repousse Baroque scroll, floral and shell patterns. It has gilt interior and original cut glass liner. Marked 5950. Made by Bruckmann & Söhne, Heilbronn c. 1900. Retailed by Leonhardt & Fiegel (imperial goldsmiths and jewellers until 1918).
This marvelous basket is 3 7/8" in top diameter, 2 1/4" in bottom diameter and 3 1/4" tall, handle is 4" tall. It weighs (without the liner) 128.7 grams or 4.15 ozs Troy. Liner has some minor loss.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
