Japanese Meiji era sterling silver matchbox cover, having peened finish and applied intricate monogram "HSR" on the front. Made by Arthur & Bond, Yokohama c. 1900.

This handsome cover is 2 3/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, 13/16" thick and weighs 34.5 grams or 1.11 ozs Troy. Comes with matches.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
