Portuguese Repousse Oval Box Velvet Lining 833 Standard Silver

Portuguese 833 standard silver large shaped oval box with hinged lid and wine red velvet lining inside. Body and lid are decorated with repousse patterns, featuring shell, foliate and scroll motifs. Lid has gilt interior. Box has lock (key is missing). Made in Porto, c. 1940-1960.

This fabulous box is 7 1/4" long, 4 7/8" wide and 2" tall.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
