English Victorian sterling silver gilt sweetmeat dish, having round form with scalloped fluted border and George II 1758 Shilling coin inset in the center of the bowl, accented with engraved patterns. Made by Henry Brasted, London, 1899.
This splendid serving dish is 4" in diameter, 1/2" deep and weighs 76 grams or 2.5 ozs. Troy. There is wear to the gilding, as would be expected from age and use.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
