English sterling silver sander or pounce pot with detachable pierced cap. Slightly waisted form body is decorated with repousse floral and scroll patterns with textured background. It stands on 3 applied figural scroll feet. Interior is beautifully gilt. Made by Pairpoint Bros: Alfred James, Francis William & Arthur Walter Pairpoint, London, 1908.
This incredible sander is 1" in top diameter, 1 3/4" in bottom diameter, 2 7/8" tall (without the finial) and weighs 73 grams or 2.35 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
