English sterling silver footed jewelry box, having round form body with hinged lid and fitted interior. Lid is decorated with engine turned bands and engraved foliate wreath with bow around the period script monogram "R"; lid is gilt inside. Box has two compartments, one of them is for 5 rings. Made in Birmingham, 1921. Maker's mark is partial.
This beautiful box is 4" in diameter, 2 1/8" tall and weighs (with the liner) 227 grams.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
