American sterling silver punch ladle by Frank Smith, c.1890. This wonderfully ornate, large ladle has high relief, applied grape vines, berries and leaves on the handle and gilt double-spouted bowl, with the grape vines no the handle being applied with a Lap Over Edge effect. Weighing 233 grams or 7.5 ozs. Troy, this special punch ladle is 14" long, with a double spouted bowl 4 3/4" wide. The back of the handle has an ornate, period monogram: G Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
