American sterling silver large centerpiece bowl by International Silversmiths, having the old Meriden Britannia mark, c.1900. This extraordinary circular footed bowl has high relief open work Dahlias as a wide border on its 14" diameter body which stands 2" tall, weighing 1145 grams or 36.8 ozs. Troy. The center of the bowl has an ornate, period script monogram: VRH, which adds to the overall appeal of this work of art. Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
