American sterling silver large footed serving bowl in a Baroque style by Black Starr and Frost of New York City, c.1890. This elegant, ornate bowl features applied floral and ribbon swags on its body, with an ornate, period monogram VE, an applied scroll rim and 4 floral scroll lion′s paw feet. The body of the bowl is 10" in diameter, 3 1/2" deep and the bowl is 5" tall, weighind a very substantial 1115 grams or 35.9 ozs. Troy. Monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
