Russian 84 standard silver and Niello Tobacco box by Nikolai Pavolovovich Pavlov, with an 1896 Moscow assay mark of Anatoly Apollonovich Artsybashev. The top and bottom of the box are decorated with basket weave and geometrical designs highlighted by Niello work, with ТАБАКЪ and the symbols C and 1/4 on the lid, and ФУНТА АК 7 КО on each side of a blank round cartouche on the bottom. A round button easily operates the catch to release the spring loaded lid. The interior has a matte gold finish, with the full set of marks on the base, with 84, the Russian Town mark and the maker′s mark НП on the lid. The Niello work is in excellent condition, and the lid closes perfectly, with no dents along the edges or corners. The hinge is clean and tight. Weighing 127 grams or 4.1 0zs.
