A very nice assembled set, with the carbon steel blades being in good usable condition. The teaspoons, dated 1890, are a later addition but go nicely with the set. The 4 knives with the WH monogram go nicely with the set. The set is in very nice overall condition, with normal wear consistent with age.

Russian 84 standard silver and Niello Tobacco box by Nikolai Pavolovovich Pavlov, with an 1896 Moscow assay mark of Anatoly Apollonovich Artsybashev. The top and bottom of the box are decorated with basket weave and geometrical designs highlighted by Niello work, with ТАБАКЪ and the symbols C and 1/4 on the lid, and ФУНТА АК 7 КО on each side of a blank round cartouche on the bottom. A round button easily operates the catch to release the spring loaded lid. The interior has a matte gold finish, with the full set of marks on the base, with 84, the Russian Town mark and the maker′s mark НП on the lid. The Niello work is in excellent condition, and the lid closes perfectly, with no dents along the edges or corners. The hinge is clean and tight. Weighing 127 grams or 4.1 0zs. Troy, this superb, good sized tobacco box is 4 1/8" - 2 1/2" and 7/8" deep. It features highly detailed applied decorative boars heads in profile on the sides and it rests upon four wild boar piglets. Made in Czarist Russia by mastersilversmith and jeweler Alexander Kazimirovich Vyrzhikovsky, assayed in Kiev 1892. This rare item is fully hallmarked and has never been monogrammed.
